My name is Mrs. Manning and I'm honored to serve as the principal of Ruby Duncan Elementary School. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and I am a product of the Clark County School District. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Special Education and my master's degree is Administrative Leadership from Sierra Nevada College. I've taught and worked with grades Kindergarten thru 8th grade as a teacher and Special Education Instructional Facilitator. I worked as the Assistant Principal at Joseph Neal Elementary School before my appointment as Principal at Ruby Duncan. When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and cheering on my favorite sports teams: Vegas Golden Knights and San Diego Padres.
Ruby Duncan is a great school with extraordinary people who work hard for our students. I am amazed every day at how hard all of the staff and students continue to work on setting goals and focusing on achieving to be the best. Our focus is aimed to ensure all students are learning at high levels of academic excellence and learning the skills to become the future leaders of tomorrow. I look forward to collaboratively working with our families and community to ensure all students are “Ready by Exit.”
My name is Ms. Payne and I am the assistant principal here at Ruby Duncan ES. I am originally from Connecticut, but Nevada has been my home for the past 13 years. I have experience teaching elementary, as well as supporting teachers as an EL, math, and RTI strategist. My passion is working with the school community to increase student achievement through utilizing collective knowledge, setting rigorous goals, and cultivating a culture of perseverance. It is my belief that all students can be successful when parents, teachers, and administrators work together.
I am feeling particularly excited about the 2017-18 school year because of our focus on cultivating the leader in each student and creating common expectations. Throughout this process we will continue to empower our students to dream, believe, and achieve!
